At Wax Shack, every esthetician on our team is licensed, trained, and genuinely invested in getting your results right, not just moving through a 15-minute time slot. We use Hypochlorous Acid skin sanitizing (replacing old-school alcohol-based practices) as our pre- & post-wax standard, because clean technique isn’t optional, it’s the baseline.
Being local also means consistency. You’re not getting a different esthetician every visit or a service standardized for a franchise manual, instead you’re building a relationship with an esthetician who knows your skin, your hair growth pattern, and what actually works for you over time.
First-Time Client FAQ
Does waxing hurt? Some discomfort is normal, especially your first appointment, but your esthetician is trained to put you at ease & get you to your desired end result. It gets easier with regular waxing as your hair grows in finer and sparser.
How long should my hair be before waxing? About ¼ inch, roughly two weeks of growth if you normally shave. Too short and the wax can’t grip it properly.
Should I shave before my appointment? No! Please don’t shave beforehand. Come in with natural growth so we can get a clean, even wax.
What’s the 48-hour rule? Avoid hot tubs, saunas, tanning, and intense workouts for 48 hours after waxing. Freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and pores are open, so it needs a little time to recover.
How often should I book? Every 4-6 weeks is the sweet spot for most people. Consistent enough to keep hair growth cycles working in your favor.
Do you accept walk-ins? Yes! Walk-ins are welcome Tuesday-Friday during business hours (9am-7pm), however reserved appointments will be prioritized. We kindly ask appointments on Saturdays & Sundays are schedule ahead of time.
